SURFABOUT VOLUME 1, NO. 2 (1962)

American Johnny Fain looks superimposed on this Malibu wave in a photo that must be reversed or doctored somehow. This is a rare Australian quarterly published by Jack Eden and Garry Birdsall. Only one issue precedes this one...Content includes epic Dee Why Point, Cronulla, and an incredible shot of Ricky Grigg at 12-foot Sunset captured by master lensman LeRoy Grannis. Plus "The Turn in Action" by Phil Edwards, "Tuesday Heavies at Bronte," "Ancient and Modern Surfing," "South Coast Surfari," "Surfing by the Golden Gate," and "Surfing in Solitude." This copy is in very good or Betty condition, at least 80 percent of mint. Minor insect damage has resulted in a small hole in cover along binding edge, but has not affected interior pages. No pulling at staples and no staple rust. Very light cover wear overall. Small (1/2-inch) tear on page 21/22. Complete and intact with no missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
