SURFING WORLD VOLUME 1, NO. 3 (1962)

Only two issues precede this 44-year-old copy of The Surfing World, which is still published today. It was "a monthly magazine published in the interests of promoting surfing in Australia and overseas." Content includes surfing in the English Channel, "Copacabana," "The Third Face of Dee Why," "Seal Rocks," "Last Rows of Summer," and "Mail Call." The classic period ads will crack you up: "Stamp Out Wipe Outs with Ampol Surfboard Wax." This copy is in fair to good condition, about 70 to 75 percent of mint. Very fragile spine with significant insect damage. Spine is split two inches at bottom edge with a small tear in front cover. Some chipping along edges. Otherwise light to moderate cover and spine wear. Interior pages have yellowed slightly. Complete and intact with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
