JOHN SEVERSON'S "GOING MY WAVE" (1962)

"Going My Wave was Severson's most ambitious surf-travel adventure. With colorful animated maps and new surf spots, the film was a reflection of changing travel horizons in the sport. The featured wave was shot with a 1000 millimeter lens from almost a mile away in the hills above Laniakea on Oahu's North Shore. Note the board under the arm of the cartoon photographer. Severson went 'shortboard' in much of his art in the late 1950s for the sake of graphics and fun." This one screened at the House of Hospitality in Balboa Park, San Diego. This vintage surf movie poster is in excellent or near-mint condition, at least 95 percent of mint. Creased where it was once folded in fourths. Otherwise very light wear with no tears, tack holes, or tape marks. No water stains or moisture damage of any kind. Measures approximately 9 inches by 14 inches.
