NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAY 1935

The much sought-after Nat Geo issue featuring the images of one of the first surf masters of the century, Thomas Edward Blake. Eight illustrations in Duotone include some of the very first water shots of surfers on waves. The pictorial article is titled Waves and Thrills at Waikiki. Blake copyrighted all eight photographs.

Overall condition is very good. No tears, loose or missing pages. Binding is still tight. Binding is worn and frayed slightly at the top edge. Cover is slightly soiled. Measures approximately 7 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall. Stored in an archival quality clear plastic sleeve and backed with an acid-free mat board.
