SURF REFLECTIONS NO. 1 (1971)

Here is Surfing Magazine's debut of Surf Reflections, a collector's first issue. "A photo is nothing more than the capture of an instantaneous moment of action in a multitudinous series of actions," wrote Publisher Don Thomas. "Surf Reflections is a group of those captured moments." Whoa...what were those dudes smokin'? This was one of the first surfing magazines to experiment with placing ads on the back pages only...great idea. Killer North Shore pictorial featuring Tom Stone, Mike Armstrong, Sam Hawk, Jeff Hakman, and Angie Reno, among others. California action includes Salt Creek and Cardiff Reef. This magazine is in good condition (about 70 percent of mint) with little or no pulling at staples. Slight crush at bottom of spine. Complete and intact with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts. No water stains or moisture damage of any kind. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
