Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1960's

This cover shot had mothers everywhere worrying about their sons' raging hormones. Coverage includes a Campus Point pictorial, Frenchman Joel de Rosnay interview, and John Severson's "Surfers in Motion." SURFER answers the rhetorical question, "Why Girls?" Also includes Reader Photos, an Africa travel feature by Bruce Brown, Fred Van Dyke's "One More Wave," and Rick Griffin's Murphy and the Surf Spy, Part III. Finally, a Nancy Nelson interview and North Narabeen pictorial on a day that looked a lot like Pipeline. We rate this one a Betty, or about 80 percent of mint. Spine is just starting to split at top and bottom edges. Very little pulling at staples. Some rubbing on front cover as shown in scan. Complete and intact with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. We have two other copies of this issue in Betty-minus condition, about 75 percent of mint. Click Here for a closer look.
