SURFER MAGAZINE VOLUME 19, NO. 1 (1978)

SURFER Magazine goes monthly with this vintage issue from '78. Content includes the formal announcement of the creation of the New Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA). Rory Russell interviews Col "Smitty" Smith, plus "North Shore Perspectives 77/78," featuring a classic duel between Mark Richards and Shaun Tomson at Off-the-Wall. Also includes a Florida pictorial, "A North Atlantic Harvest" by Kevin Naughton and Craig Peterson, an early Grajagan travel feature, "Competition Bulletin," and "Who's Phil Edwards?" by Dr. Dorian Paskowitz. "Extra" includes a peek at the "Winterstick," an early snowboard prototype. This issue is in good or Betty-minus condition, about 75 percent of mint. Tiny piece of top right corner of cover is missing. Otherwise light to moderate cover and spine wear. No pulling at staples. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. We have a second copy of this issue in slightly lesser condition. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
