Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1970's

Dane Kealoha's colorful Town & Country slices cleanly through a lime-green wave on the south shore of Oahu. This one includes an early article on Surfer's Ear, "The Magic of a Hawaiian Summer" by Jim Kempton, including the first-ever-published sequence of a carving 360 executed by Larry Bertleman. Bertleman and Dane Kealoha completely dominated Town, and Steve Wilkings and Warren Bolster were there to document it all! Plus "New Moon in Bali" by Rory Russell, a Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew interview by Warren Bolster, and "California Archetypes" by Steve Sakamoto, featuring Santa Cruz County's Richard Schmidt, among other rippers. This magazine is in very good or Betty condition, about 80 percent of mint. Light cover and spine wear. No pulling at staples. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. We have a second copy of this issue in slightly lesser condition. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
