SURFER MAGAZINE VOLUME 21, NO. 11 (NOVEMBER 1980)

"Irish surfer Alan Duke awakens from dreams of hailstorms in the hinterland to sizzling Baja perfection -- can the poor boy ever go home?"

This is a special "World Travel Issue" featuring 16 extra full-color pages of waves from exotic locales. We begin with "A Decade of Travel: A Retrospect of the Adventures of Craig (Peterson) and Kevin (Naughton) Over the Past Ten Years." This pair explored nearly every possible surf destination and documented it all...from Mexico and Central America to Baja, France, Ireland, Spain, Morocco, and Africa. Darrell Jones pens a Java travel piece titled "Sailing the Southern Cross," one of the first documented visits to Panaitan Island. John Witzig explores the Iberian Peninsula in Portugal, and a mixed pictorial features images from all four corners of the globe, including Vietnam, Okinawa, New Zealand, and Fiji. Whew...I've got jet lag just thinking about all those layovers!
