SURFER MAGAZINE VOLUME 27, NO. 7 (1986)

This "True California" issue is a must-have for any California collector of SURFER. Content includes "The Saga of Harbor Bill" and pictorials featuring Black's, Swami's, and Big Rock. "Fair Warning" by Jack Waterman paints an ugly picture of Oxnard localism. Check out the Central Coast in "Call of the Wild: Truth and Beauty in Monterey." It's not often our humble home is featured in the surf mags, and we kinda like it that way. Nevertheless, we're always stoked when local boys get the credit they so justly deserve. Standouts include Andy Lino, Billy Brewer ("Brew-Dog"), and Forrest Millington (a.k.a. "The Doctor"). Then it's on to Rincon and "California Big Waves," featuring Redondo Beach Breakwater, La Jolla Cove, Lunada Bay, and Steamer Lane. Maverick's is noticeably absent from this piece...Jeff Clark was probably surfing it by himself back in '86. This magazine is in very good or Betty condition, about 80 percent of mint. Light cover and spine wear with very slight pulling at staples. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
