This is a vintage movie poster for Bud Browne's Cat On a Hot Foam Board, released in 1959.
Filmed in 1958 and early 1959, was Bud Browne's 7th annual surfing film. According to Sam Ryan, this film was primarily shot in Hawaii and featured Phil Edwards, Dewey Weber, L.J. Richards, and was the surf movie debut for 15-year-old Linda Benson.
The movie's title was a play on Hollywood's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; But more interesting is Bud's use of the word "Foam" in the title as surfboards were evolving from balsa wood to foam back in the late 1950s."
This original surf movie poster is in very good to near-mint condition, at least 90 percent of mint. Very light wear with no tack holes, tape marks, creases, or tears. No water stains or moisture damage of any kind.
Measures approximately 8 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
