PETERSEN'S SURFING YEARBOOK NO. 1 (1963)

The first Yearbook was published before Surfing magazine's first issue, about the same time that SURFER published its first photo annual, according to Surfing Collectibles Guide author Tim DeLaVega. This is another highly collectible Petersen publication loaded with photos, surfer profiles, first-aid and safety tips, even step-by-step directions for building your own surfboard. We rate this a Betty-plus, about 85 percent of mint. Some dinks and minor rubbing along spine. Otherwise light cover and spine wear. Also some minor yellowing of interior pages. But most importantly, there are no torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. 96 pages. We have a second copy of this Yearbook in slightly lesser condition. Click Here for a closer look.
