Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfing Illustrated

Jeff Hakman flashes Dr. Don James a big grin as he hangs five in this vintage Surfing Illustrated cover from 1964. Content includes "South Bay South," coverage of the Oceanside Invitationals, and Surf Poll results with Phil Edwards taking top honors. Also includes a Steve Dabney profile, "Summer Is a Thing Called Fun," and a Felipe Pomar interview. Plus New Zealand, Pismo Beach, and Honolua Bay. This magazine is a Betty, or about 80 percent of mint. Cover and spine show very light wear. No pulling at staples. Small pencil mark on front cover and larger ink or crayon mark on back cover. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. We have a second copy of this issue in comparable condition. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
