Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1970's

The late-sixties influence is really visible in this classic fold-out cover featuring a blistering Sunset cutback by 1969 Surfer Poll winner Nat Young. This packed issue contains a Bob Cooper interview, "Two Sides of Maui" by Ron Stoner, "Look Around" by Gary Propper, The Bill Wise Story, and "The California Identity: A Synthesis" by Drew Kampion. Nat and Margo Godfrey take top honors in the SURFER Poll Awards. Plus a Latin America travel feature, "SurfToons," surf poetry, Bell's Beach, South Africa, Texas, and Surfer Photography! Whew... 154 pages of classic period ads, killer photos, and all the editorial content of the era. The quality just doesn't get much better than this. We rate this one a solid Betty-plus, or mint-minus, if you prefer -- about 85 percent of mint. Some dinks and light cover wear as shown in scan. Corners and spine are in very good condition...light wear only with no splitting of spine. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. We have a second copy of this issue in comparable condition. Click Here for a closer look.
