Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1980's
Classic positioning by Peter McCabe inside a lime-green barrel at Padang Padang lands him on the cover of SURFER Magazine.
Content includes a beautiful Rincon pictorial titled "Queen of the Coast" penned by Don Balch, a well-traveled Santa Barbara County local who was responsible for bringing tri-plane hulls back to California. Al Merrick made them, but Tom Curren made them great!
Also includes a travel adventure to the Dutch East Indies, also known as Indonesia, and profiles of Donald Takayama, Edwin Santos, and Michael Ho. Plus "Island Music," a colorful feature with painting and words by SURFER founder John Severson.
This issue is in very good or Betty condition, about 80 percent of mint. Very slight moisture ripple on front cover does not affect interior pages. Very light cover and spine wear with no pulling at staples. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts.
Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
