SURFER MAGAZINE VOLUME 22, NO. 10 (OCTOBER 1981)

"The most talked about new design since the twin-fin has been Simon Anderson's tri-fin thruster." This was Jeff Parker's first day ever on a thruster, and from the looks of this cover shot, he liked it!

"The Surfboard: Variations, Applications, and Innovations" explores what was state-of-the-art for surfboard design in 1981. Unlike today, the world's top surfers rode a variety of different templates and fin combinations, including single fins, twin fins, and the newly unveiled thruster.

This isssue also includes a Rhode island pictorial and a eulogy for Chris O'Rourke, who lost his courageous battle with cancer on May 26, 1981. A Tom Carroll profile and "Surf Music: Raiders of the Lost Art" round out this generous mag.

This magazine is in very good or Betty condition, about 80 percent of mint. Very light cover and spine wear with no pulling at staples. One small ding at top left edge of magazine is barely visible in scan. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts.

Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
