SURFER MAGAZINE VOLUME 23, NO. 9 (1982)

It's still hard to believe that Arnold Schwarzenegger, current governor of California, once lopped peasants heads off by the dozens in "Conan the Barbarian"...with Gerry Lopez at his side, no less! This one includes "El Martillo," a travel adventure to a seldom surfed island off the coast of Mexico with Richard Kenvin and Greg Mungall. In "Deeds Down Under: The 1982 Australian Pro Tour" by Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew, Mark Richards collects his fourth Bells Beach Championship and Burleigh Heads is classic for the Stubbies. Also includes "The Hollywood Connection: Surfing Sunset and Vine," which includes Gerry Lopez as "Subotai" the Mongol archer/thief in "Conan the Barbarian." "Vicious Fishes," "Close-Ups," and a Brazilian travel adventure rounds out this issue. A hilarious full-page ad for Fast Times at Ridgemont High, now a cult classic, appears on page 95. This issue is in very good or Betty-plus condition, about 85 percent of mint. Very light cover and spine wear. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
