Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1980's

Joey Buran give the thumbs-up signal during a dawn patrol session at an Oceanside beachbreak. Content includes "A Surf Odyssey Through Iberia" and "The Kaena Point Challenge," where Alec Cooke -- a.k.a. "Ace Cool" --successfully does what no man has done Oahu's Kaena Point. Also includes a California pictorial and San Diego feature with classic shots of Black's, Swami's, and La Jolla Cove. Finally, a Wes Laine profile titled "The Virginian" chronicles his meteoric rise from small East Coast beachbreaks to Hawaiian power and, in two short years, to the top ten on the ASP tour. This magazine is in very good or Betty condition, about 80 percent of mint. Some soiling of front cover as shown in scan. Corners are bunted slightly. Otherwise light cover and spine wear with minimal pulling at staples. Complete and intact with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts.
