SURFER MAGAZINE VOLUME 29, NO. 4 (1988)

Mike Parsons finds the cover again, long before his big-wave exploits at Cortes Bank and Mavericks. Felipe Pomar pens "Surfing in 1,000 B.C." Also includes coverage of The Kamehameha Cup World Canoe Surfing Championships. Gary Elkerton wins the Hard Rock and Billabong events at Sunset Beach, while Tom Carroll takes the Marui Pipeline Masters. Other North Shore standouts include Tom Curren, Martin Potter, and Laird Hamilton. Plus "20 Things Not to Miss on a Trip to the North Shore," and "The Kodachrome Offensive" by Derek Hynd. A Cheyne Horan profile exposes a man driven to be different. This magazine is in good or Betty-minus condition, about 75 percent of mint. One significant ding at top left corner. Otherwise light to moderate cover and spine wear with some pulling at staples. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Bobby Owens poster is intact. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
